Caley promises dazzling spring display at the Botanics
Internationally renowned daffodil exhibitor, breeder and judge, Jim Davidson, returns to Edinburgh as guest of the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society’s 2006 Spring Flower Show, at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s Caledonian Hall on Saturday March 25 and Sunday, March 26. He will present a stunning display of Daffodils provided by RHS Gold Medal winner, R. A. Scamp from Falmouth. As well as the keenly contested competitive classes including a schools’ section, visitors can also buy plants from some of the best local nurseries.
New to the line-up for 2006 will be the Inter Society Competition for a 1m x 1m Outdoor Display of Plants and Flowers. Also included are 10 invited schools (I've deleted Nurseries), selected through the Edinburgh in Bloom initiative, competing for the Daily Express Challenge Trophy for six pots of Narcissus ‘Tête-à-Tête’. Visitors, too, can see the Show 2006 Charity Donation, a collection of Knee Blankets knitted by members of the Society for older people in Romanian Hospitals.
ENDS Issued by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh on behalf of the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society
