This is the oldest city in “Holland”. It obtained its city rights in 1220!
It survived the disastrous floods of 1421 and grew as a result of its place
on the various rivers which represented the trade routes of the time. It
now sits on the Oude Maas (the Meuse) and various other waterways and
tidal lakes.
A lively city, with good shopping and green spaces.
