5-DAY STUDY TOUR

A study tour to gardens of the North-East of Scotland is proposed on the above dates. Accommodation for 4 nights will be at the SAC College at the Craibstone Estate, near Aberdeen, in mainly single rooms; six twin rooms are also available, if required. All rooms have ensuite facilities Three course evening meals are included
There is a range of varied and interesting gardens in the area. It is hoped to visit one garden on the outward journey to Aberdeen and one on the return trip. A selection will be made from the following gardens. Castle Fraser Garden & Estate, Crathes Castle, Cruikshank Botanic Garden, Professor Tom Smith’s Garden at Rubislaw Den North, Daluaine, Duthie Park & David Welsh Winter Garden, Glenbervie, Inchmarlo House

ALL DAY VISIT TO TWO GARDENS NEAR PEEBLES

In the morning, a self-guided tour of Dawyck Botanic Garden, (Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh), where a soup & sandwich lunch will be provided. This will be followed by a visit to Robin Brock’s private garden, Meldonfoot, in the afternoon.

ALL DAY VISIT TO TWO GARDENS IN FIFE

In the morning, we visit the garden of Kellie Castle, owned by the NTS, near Pittenweem. This is a romantic garden designed by Robert Lorimer. Lunch at the Upper Largo Hotel is included in the ticket price. The afternoon visit is to Balcarres Castle, Colinsburgh, Leven, where we will have tea.
