A Programme of Practical Gardening Activities
Both CD and book have been designed to promote the practice and enjoyment of gardening for youngsters and beginners. There are appropriate practical activity sheets that follow the gardening year. These are easy to follow, fun to do and give a good introduction to gardening and growing plants.
Many children will be capable of working through the programme by themselves, but generally the best results will be achieved when the exercises are carried out as a group or family activity with encouragement from parents or a supervising adult. There are also sections with gardening information containing diagrams and colourful pictures.
The Young Gardener Certificate -
The Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society has established a Young Gardener Certificate for those who wish to gain recognition for their gardening efforts. The Young Gardener Certificate – Registration Fee £4.00
